In Grolier Exhib. 1958 (presumably "One Hundred Books Famous in Science," but not listed in the Horblit publication). A photocopied acquisitions form from the Burndy Library is laid in, noting that the volume was bought at Monte Carlo from Hutton in 1951

SCDIRB copy has stamp on verso of t.p.: Sion College Library; sold by order of the president and governors, 1938

SCDIRB copy has the original Ray Society binding of gilt- and blind-stamped blue embossed cloth with yellow endpapers. "Ray Society, 1862" is stamped at the foot of spine in gold, and "R.S." stamped in gold on front cover. With remnants of old circular paper shelfmarks on spine. At time of cataloging update (June 2012), some pages were still unopened
